Michael Cohen, PhD, joined Wakely in 2017. While at Wakely Michael has focused on providing policy and econometric analysis for clients, primarily public sector clients. Michael has extensive knowledge of healthcare in Massachusetts’, specifically its ACA individual and small group markets, experience working with public sector clients, and experience working on exchange and ACA market related projects. The core of Michael’s experience is based on his nearly eight years working at CMS and the White House on ACA initiatives. Before coming to Wakely he served as a senior advisor on various commercial insurance and ACA initiatives, including risk adjustment, health policy, program integrity, and insurance oversight activities. In addition to working at CMS, he previously worked at the White House where he analyzed commercial market trends and helped develop policies on ACA topics such as 1332 waivers, risk adjustment, and market reform rules.
